Effective Study of Piroxicam Injectable (9SP20) in General Surgery, Neurosurgery and Pain-Clinic Fields

Abstract
|
|
|
Piroxicam is a non-steroidal analgesics and anti-inflamatory agent and it has long half-life of about 40 hours and is suitable for once daily administration via intramuscular injection.
There were evaluated the therapeutic effectiveness and side reaction of piroxicam, a double-blind study was done in 60 patients that using phenylbutazone and placebo, who complained of back pain, post-operative wound and multi-joints pain.
The results were follows:
1. The effect of 9SP20 was "excellent" in 20 patients (52.7%), "good" in 14 patient (36.8%), "improved" in 3 patient (7.9%), "unchange" in 1 patient (2.6%), and there was not "symptom aggravate" case.
2. There was decreased of ESR and no harmful effect on renal, hepatic and hematopoietic function.
3. Side effect was revealed only transient facial edema for 3 days in 2 patients.
